Olympic Qualification

Congratulations to Rodrigo Ideus who has become the first Colombian sculler to qualify for the Olympics at the Latin American qualifiers. Rod beat his personal best to make the final by half a second, and in doing so claimed his place at Beijing.

Kaarin Scanlan, in the women’s single, was unlucky to miss a qualification place by just three seconds.

Both scullers – lightweights racing in the Olympic-class heavyweight categories – performed extremely well and congratulations must go to both scullers, and all who have been involved in their coaching and development.
