Masters Women

The Masters Women's squad is a recently formed group catering for those aged 27+. It includes those who wish to train and race competitively and those who enjoy recreational rowing. Both groups need to fit rowing around family and/or work commitments.

Coached outings are on Wednesdays and Fridays during school term time, and a group of single scullers also goes out on Monday and Sunday mornings and during the school holidays. The majority of the group race regularly, focusing on the Veteran Fours Head, Scullers Head and Vesta Veterans' Head in the winter, and Masters events at a wide range of regattas in the summer, in particular the British Masters Championship and Henley Masters Regatta. Crews also attend the World Masters Regatta.

The squad is happy to accommodate those who are not interested in racing. However, the aim of every newcomer should be to become confident in a single scull, whether rowed recreationally or competitively, within a few terms of joining. The club is principally a sculling club; we do row sweep for certain races but our main focus in on sculling.

Only a limited number of beginners can be catered for; those who are totally new to the sport are encouraged to take part in one of the club's sculling courses first - details of which can be found on the Sculling Courses page.
