Junior Dinner

After the Bernie Thompson Challenge Sculls, the evening of Saturday 22nd September saw the club room transformed into an exclusive venue for the annual TSS Junior Dinner.
With fizz to welcome the guests, a generous curry supper and Jill Anderson's famous brownies to burst the waistline, everyone enjoyed a great evening celebrating the national and international sucesses of the 2011-12 season. Alan Campbell sent his best wishes via DVD, and Kate Allen, Australian Olympic gold and silver medallist and wife of one-time TSS captain Rob, was guest speaker and presented this year's prizes.
We said goodbye to Mimi and Frank, last year's Junior Captains, and welcomed Flora and Alex as their successors. Saskia and Ollie won the 2011-12 achievement awards, and there were several other prizes including 'most detentions', 'being bonkers' and 'having a haircut so bad that school put you in internal suspension'. The evening was rounded off by a magnificent raffle and some rapid synchronised clearing up. Many thanks to all who made the evening such a success, and congratulations to the junior squads, whose successes we were celebrating. JB
