Opening Ceremony Party

The Opening Ceremony party was a triumph! What better way to kick off the Olympics than to watch what turned out to be a truly memorable and quirky Danny Boyle special on a big screen with loads of convivial people, eating and drinking the night away?
Many thanks to all those who kindly contributed to the evening by donating food - particularly to Mary Mortimer who arrived armed with loads of meringues and special Olympic biscuits - and to everyone who helped decorate the room with plenty of British bunting, and a centerpiece of the Olympic rings made from hula hoops. The bar was well stocked with plenty of bubbles and beer - thanks to Elaine and everyone who helped out behind the bar.
Not only was the evening huge fun but we generated a grand total of over £1000 for the club, so so thanks to everyone who contributed!
The Closing Ceremony is next. The bar will be open from 7.30pm on Sunday 12th August. Bring along your steak and sausages for a barbecue.
